Posca kneels next to the dead body of Caesar while Mark Antony walks out of the Senate, only to be chased by Quintus Pompey and a group of men with swords. Marcus Junius Brutus returns home where Servilia of the Junii tells him she is proud of him. Lucius Vorenus cries while holding the body of Niobe and then grabs and shakes Lucius demanding to know who he is until he is stopped when Lyde, Vorena the Elder and Vorena the Younger return home. Lucius Vorenus then curses them all and walks out into the alley. Man with no legs yells in the alley that Caesar is dead. Posca gathers the body of Caesar and moves him in a cart. Merula comforts Atia of the Julii and Gaius Octavian tells Octavia of the Julii that she cannot tell anyone that they provided the information about Niobe's child. Castor lets in Timon who brings in men and tells Octavian that the city is quiet. Atia wants to leave the city while Octavian thinks they should stay. Mark Antony soon arrives and tells Atia that he is going north to raise an army to kill the perpetrators. As they are all leaving to had north, Mark Antony tells Atia that they must gather Calpurnia before they leave. An Ancient Blind Oracle walks up to a dazed Lucius and knocks him unconscious before stealing Lucius' jewelry and sandals. Titus Pullo gives Eirene a flower wreath he made and asks Eirene to marry him and she accepts. Calpurnia grieves over the body of Caesar. Mark Antony and the others arrive and Mark Antony tells Calpurnia demands that Caesar's will be read. Posca reads the will which includes freeing Posca, giving a sum of money to the people of Rome and giving his estate to Octavian. Octavian decides to stay and tells Mark Antony that there may be a way to force Brutus to come to a compromise and after hearing that she will be the mother of the richest man in Rome versus Servilia if Brutus compromises, Atia decides to stay. Horseman rides near the village that Titus and Eirene are eating at, and when Titus hears the man yell that Caesar is dead, he knocks Horseman off of his horse, jumps on the horse and rides away with Eirene. Lyde cleans Niobe's body and tells Vorena the Elder Lucius will return at some point. Erastes Fulmen and a few of his men show up at Lucius' home and kidnaps everyone still there. Marcus Tullius Cicero goes to Servilia's home and congratulates Brutus, Cassius and the other assassins. When Cicero hears that Mark Antony is still alive he attempts to leave, but almost runs into Mark Antony as he enters Servilia's home. Titus and Eirene return to Lucius' home to find Lucius still in a daze and everyone else gone. Lucius tells Titus he cursed his family to hell and Titus tries to comfort him. Before negotiations can commence, Mark Antony sees Quintus Pompey in the room and demands he leave due to Quintus' attempt that morning to murder him. Brutus insists that no order was made to kill Mark Antony, and Quintus is told to leave by Cassius. Mark Antony uses what Octavian brought up about the laws to offer Brutus and the other senators a compromise in which they are given amnesty in exchange for Caesar's will and acts to be upheld and a public funeral. Mark Antony waits outside while the conspirators discuss his offer, and while Cassius, Cicero and Servilia want to murder Mark Antony now, Brutus refuses. Brutus walks outside and tells Mark Antony his offer will be accepted and before Mark Antony leaves, he slashes the throat of Quintus Pompey, killing him. Newsreader tells the people that there will be a funeral for Caesar with eulogies delivered by Mark Antony and Brutus. Servilia walks into Calpurnia's home where Caesar's body lies in state and Calpurnia spits on Servilia. Octavian tells Titus how Lucius was tricked into leaving Caesar and asks Titus for forgiveness in telling Octavian what he knew about Niobe and Titus offers to get vengeance for Octavian. The undertaker arrives to take Niobe's body and Lucius once again regrets cursing his children who still have not returned. Niobe's body is burned on a pyre while prayers are made over the body of Caesar before it is burned in front of the public. After his successful eulogy, Mark Antony offer to make Brutus a grain monitor so he can leave the city with dignity and protection against the mob. Brutus and the other conspirators agree to leave the city while Servilia is forced to stay. When Lucius returns home he hears a noise and finds Clarissa rummaging around the house. She tells Lucius and Titus that Erastes Fulmen took the children. Triolus describes Caesar's funeral to Erastes and his men, and Erastes comments about the lack of dignity of Mark Antony. Later Erastes is complaining about slaves and foreigners causing problems when he hears a commotion and Rome should be for Romans. Lucius walks into the room covered in blood and asks for his children. Erastes runs upstairs and finds Titus surrounded by the bodies of Erastes' men. Erastes realizing he is a dead man tells Lucius he raped and murdered his children and Lucius cuts off Erastes' head. Lucius and Titus then walk down the street with Lucius carrying Erastes' head. | |||
