Lucius Vorenus

Background

Lucius Vorenus of the tribe of Stellatina has been the Magistrate of Lower Aventine, an Evocati, Prefect, Centurion and Chief of Scouts in the 13th Legion of the Roman Army. He is the husband of Niobe and the father of Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger and Lucius.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 1 The Stolen Eagle played by Kevin McKidd

During the final battle against the Gauls, Lucius Vorenus is forced to retrieve a drunk Titus Pullo who has broken ranks. Back at camp Lucius has Titus whipped and condemns him to die in the gladiatorial stadium. After the legions eagle standard is stolen, Mark Antony orders Lucius to retrieve the standard. In order to gather information Lucius has nearby villagers crucified, one Crucified Man tells Lucius it was Spaniards who stole the standard. Antony's Tribune goes into Titus Pullo's cell and informs him he will be joining Lucius Vorenus on the mission to retrieve the eagle standard. As they are riding Titus thanks Lucius for taking him on the mission and Lucius informs him he didn't do it as a favor, but knowing the odds of them finding the standard were low, he decided to take a condemned man along so as not to ruin the career of a good soldier. While Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo are camping Titus falls asleep during watch and their horses are stolen. They see a group of people walking while also using Gaius Octavian to pull a cart. They kill the men and find out they were the Spaniards who stole the standard. They also find Sextus amongst the group holding the standard. Sextus strikes Pullo with the standard and tries to run away but is impaled and killed by a spear thrown by Lucius. They return to camp with the standard and Octavian.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 2 How Titus Pullo Brought Down the Republic played by Kevin McKidd

Titus Pullo, Lucius Vorenus and Octavian are sent to accompany Mark Antony on his return to Rome. As they wait for Mark Antony to finish having sex with a Peasant Woman, Lucius appears nervous of returning home. Antony arrives in Rome to cheers from the people. Antony tells Lucius and Titus to return Octavian to his mother Atia of the Julii. Castor announces to Atia, Octavian is home. Octavian introduces Lucius and Titus and insists they be allowed to stay for dinner. During dinner there is a discussion about politics where Lucius argues the preservation of the Republic is the most important factor while Titus thinks Caesar should ride into Rome and take over. Lucius and Titus awkwardly part ways and Lucius returns home. He finds Niobe in the market with Clarissa, holding a child which he assumes is her illegitimate child. Niobe tells Lucius the child is his grandson also named Lucius from his daughter Vorena the Elder and a boy named Crito. Lucius walks into the house and is introduced to his daughters Vorena the Older and Vorena the Younger. Things continue to be tense at Lucius and Niobe's house. Lucius finds out he was reported dead and his pay stopped so Niobe had to borrow money from her sister. After he is wounded in the bar fight, Titus barges into Lucius' house and collapses. A Doctor arrives and cuts open Titus' skull to relieve pressure. Lucius visits the slave market where a Slave Trader is selling off slaves. Otho approaches Lucius and convinces him to spend money on feeding his slaves so they will bring a better price. Lucius is called to guard Mark Antony when he returns to the senate. Mark Antony's group are walking towards the Senate when Stilicho sees Titus and attacks him. Titus kills Stilicho and a fight breaks out. Lucius is wounded. Mark Antony returns to camp and Caesar parades him in front of the troops as a justified reason to invade Rome beyond Caesar being declared an enemy of Rome. Caesar and his men cross the Rubicon into Italy.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 3 An Owl in the Thornbrush played by Kevin McKidd

Caesar orders Lucius to take Titus and a group of Ubiians to Rome to post a proclamation on the Senate door. At their campfire, Lucius asks Titus how to get Niobe to love him and Titus gives him advice. Lucius, Titus and the Ubiians come across a group of Pompey's outriders. Titus ignores their orders not to attack and he and the Ubiians charge the camp, quickly defeating Pompey's men who appear to be young and inexperienced. As Lucius, Titus and the Ubiians get closer to Rome they come across Appius and his men disguised as drovers. Appius tells Lucius, Pompey Magnus and his men have fled Rome. Titus asks Appius how much he wants for Eirene and Appius tells him she is not for sale. A battle breaks out when Lucius notices they are wearing soldiers' sandals. Appius escapes, but the rest of his men are killed. Titus asks Lucius if they can go back and search the cart and free Eirene, however Lucius refuses. Lucius arrives in Rome and posts Caesar's declaration on the door of the Senate and then tells Titus he is deserting the Army and going home. He preys at an alter that his wife may love him, while elsewhere Niobe prays at another alter. Lucius tells Niobe she is beautiful and then promises he will try to treat her better.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 4 Stealing from Saturn played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius pays Drusilla to have her cook a dinner for a party he is having to celebrate the opening of his grocery shop. Lucius and his family then pray to a ceramic bust of Jupiter. Cato the Dwarf walks in and tells Lucius, Mark Antony wants to see him. Lucius goes to see Mark Antony who is being cleaned by a slave. Mark Antony makes Lucius an offer to rejoin the 13th Legion with a promotion, but Lucius refuses his offer. At the dinner party, Erastes Fulmen is the first guest to arrive at Lucius' party. Niobe introduces him to Lucius and Erastes introduces his wife Phyllis to them. The next to arrive are Niobe's sister Lyde and Evander Pulchio. Erastes has a conversation with Lucius about current events and offers any help he can give to Lucius. Vorena the Elder brings young Lucius to the table and Evander holds and plays with him which makes Lyde feel uncomfortable and she leaves the table. Lyde gets drunk and starts dancing with a random man and Clarissa tells Niobe she needs to get her home before she causes a scene. Lyde starts screaming that Lucius is a fool and then falls into the table holding the Jupiter bust, causing the bust to fall to the ground and break. Niobe cleans up after the party and Lucius tells her Lyde and Evander can no longer come to their house. Quintus Pompey, Volpe and the Syrians arrive at Lucius' home and demand to know where the gold is. Lucius denies knowing where the gold is and Niobe is about to be cut when Titus Pullo arrives on a litter with Eirene and walks into Lucius' courtyard. Quintus draws his sword and Titus distracts the Syrians by throwing coins into the air. Volpe and the Syrians are killed and Quintus is tied up. Titus wants to go back, take the gold and sail away, but Lucius orders him to return it and bring Quintus to Caesar.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 5 The Ram has Touched the Wall played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius tells Vorena the Elder he is going to sell his Gaulish slaves so he can pay her dowry and she can marry Crito and move with him and his family. Niobe thinks it is too soon, but Lucius thinks Vorena the Elder must marry at some point. Lucius and Titus go the bar that Titus left Eirene the night before and Lucius pays the African Barkeep the remainder of Titus' tab. They decide that Eirene shall stay with Lucius as a slave while Titus is away at war. Niobe does not want Eirene to move in with them, but Lucius is insistent. He goes to the slave market and Otho tells him all but one of his slaves have died of dysentery. Lucius brings the remaining slave home and the slave is given the name of Rubio by Vorena the Elder. Lucius approaches Erastes Fulmen about securing a loan, but Erastes refuses him, instead offering him a job as Erastes' personal bodyguard. Lucius accepts and follows Erastes to a business meeting, during which Erastes chastises one of his men for whistling too much. At the meeting, Erastes tells Lucius to break the arm of Tanjit, which Lucius does. When Tanjit refuses to give Erastes the money he wants, Erastes orders Lucius to kill Tanjit, which he refuses to do. Lucius returns home and Niobe asks what they will do for money. Lucius decides to rejoin the army and goes to Mark Antony's camp. While waiting outside he chastises a Whistling Legionary who was whistling a similar tune to the one Erastes' man was whistling. Mark Antony accepts Lucius back into the army with a promotion to evocatus, but for one thousand less denarii a month than what he previously offered Lucius. Lucius returns home and tells Niobe he has rejoined the Army and then is inducted into the Evocaty by an Elderly Priest.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 6 Egeria played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius suggests to Niobe that they take a trip, but she tells him that she can't leave Lyde, who is worried about her missing husband Evander, alone. Lucius gets drunk and tells Titus about his problems with Niobe, but refuses to leave her. A few days later Lucius goes home and finds Niobe dressed up nicely and wearing makeup. He breaks bread with her and then they have sex. When Milo makes an offer to Mark Antony to betray Caesar and surrender, Mark Antony doesn't immediately reject the offer, which upsets Lucius. That night he tells Niobe about the offer and that Mark Antony doesn't plan on helping Caesar and she tells him that at least they can be together. After Mark Antony makes his decision to mobilize the 13th Legion, Cato the Dwarf goes to Lucius' home and tells him of the news. Lucius tells his family goodbye once again and leaves for Greece.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 7 Pharsalus played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo crawl onto the beach of a deserted island after their ship is destroyed. Lucius takes the time to carve a final note on a rock with his sword while Titus believes fate will save them once again. Lucius notices a body floating in the ocean and then he and Titus Pullo build a raft from the remains of dead soldiers and pieces of wood. They take the raft out into the ocean and eventually arrive on the shores of Greece where they are found by Pompey Magnus and his people. At camp during the night Lysandros approaches Lucius and Titus and makes them an offer to kill Pompey and take his family as slaves. Lucius angrily tells Lysandros to run away and when he does not, he stabs him through the throat. Pompey approaches them and asks why Lysandros was killed and Lucius tells him that he and his family are his and Titus' captives. Pompey pulls Lucius aside and begs him to allow him and his family to go free. In the morning Lucius and Titus take a horse and then leave Pompey and his family. They make it to Caesar's camp and Caesar is enraged when he finds out that Lucius allowed Pompey to go free.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 8 Caesarion played by Kevin McKidd

Caesar sends Lucius Vorenus to find Cleopatra and Lucius leaves with Titus Pullo. They hide outside of Alexandria and wait for a hint of where Cleopatra may be found. Lucius sees Nubian Soldier and two others ride past them and he and Titus Pullo follow them. Cleopatra is about to be killed by Nubian Soldier when Lucius and Titus kills him and the other two men. Later that night, Charmian tells Lucius to follow her and then tells her to have sex with Cleopatra. Lucius refuses and then sends in Titus to do the deed. Lucius and Titus eventually sneak Cleopatra and Charmian into Alexandria and into Caesar's camp.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 9 Utica played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo return to Rome and Lucius is greeted by Vorena the Elder and Vorena the Younger and kissed and hugged by Niobe. She leads him into their house and tells him that she runs a butcher shop with Lyde. Niobe eventually convinces Lucius to join her at the butcher shop after a month with Lucius not working. One day he spots Terrified Man being assaulted by Pertinax and Urbo. Lucius intervenes and after Pertinax and Urbo insult him and Niobe, Lucius slaps Urbo in the face. Urbo leaves after telling Lucius and Titus that both of them are dead. Niobe tells Lucius that Urbo and Pertinax work for Erastes Fulmen and Erastes has grown in power and influence and can kill anyone he wants. Erastes shows up to Lucius' home and tells him that only he can correct his men and tells him that Lucius must either kiss his feet during the next market day or he will kill him after forcing him to watch the rape and murder of his family. The following day, Lucius, Titus and Niobe prepare for the arrival of Erastes, but are surprised when Lictor declares the arrival of Caesar to their home. Caesar invites Lucius to become the Magistrate of Lower Aventine and after he assures Lucius that he will restore Rome as a Republic, Lucius accepts.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 10 Triumph played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius, Niobe, and Posca go to a crowded street in Lower Aventine and Lucius makes a speech calling on the citizens to vote for him. During his speech a Heckler, comments on Lucius not being a true Roman and disparages Caesar, but Lucius reassures the crowd that he is Roman and Caesar is truly looking out for their interest and the Heckler is surreptitiously taken away. Posca teaches Lucius about Roman laws and Lucius is troubled to find out that the election is a fraud and he is the only true candidate. Titus asks him for a loan so that he may free Eirene and move to the countryside and Lucius gives him the money and offers him luck. They travel to the Register of Slaves and receive paperwork from the Clerk officially freeing Eirene. After Titus kills Oedipus in his home, Lucius demands to know why and then tries to fight and eventually bans Titus from coming to his home after Titus questions why Lucius went from calling Caesar a tyrant to kissing his boots.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 11 The Spoils played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius holds a public meeting so local citizens can air their grievances. Cloth Maker is first in line and tells Lucius that someone has been breaking his pee pots. Cloth Maker is blaming soldiers for pouring the pee pots on people when Mascius walks up and Lucius tells Cloth Maker that it won't happen again. Lucius greets Mascius and then tells him he has to wait in line like the others and he will talk to him later. Mascius tells Lucius that his fellow veterans want land in Italy and he asks Lucius to talk to Caesar about the veterans getting land in Italy. Lucius goes to Caesar with the veterans' demands and Caesar agrees to given them lands in Pannonia and tells Lucius to bribe Mascius in order to have Mascius convince the veterans to accept farms in Pannonia. Caesar then invites Lucius and Niobe to Atia's upcoming party. Lucius tells Mascius about Caesar's offer and Mascius eventually agrees to tell his fellow veterans to accept the offer after Lucius bribes him. Lucius and Niobe go to the party and Atia meets Niobe and takes her away to talk while Caesar and Lucius discuss how the deal with Mascius went. Octavian walks up to Lucius and Caesar and mentions that he heard Titus has been put under arrest and he asks them for help to free Titus, which Caesar refuses. Titus is brought to court and during the trial Lucius is present and he sees Mascius is also at the trial. Macius tells Lucius that he and a few other veterans plan on setting Titus free by force. Lucius threatens that if Mascius doesn't call off the attack then he will tell the other veterans that he accepted a bribe and Mascius agrees to call off the attack. At the end of the trial Titus is condemned to death in the arena. Lucius watches as Titus is brought to the arena and is faced by three gladiators. Titus manages to kill a number of the gladiators while yelling 13 but is exhausted by the time the final gladiator fights him. The gladiator is about to kill Titus when Lucius jumps into the arena yelling 13. Lucius cuts the gladiator's leg below the knee and then shoves the gladiator's mace straight down into his shoulder, killing him. Lucius then carries Titus out of the arena.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 12 Kalends of February played by Kevin McKidd

A Flamen Priest leads a procession including Lucius, Niobe, Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger, Lucius the child, Eirene and Rubio to the family farm, where they make an offering for luck. They come home and Clarissa tells them that Titus was found after running away from the hospital and brought to their house. They enter their house and Doctor tells them that Titus has split his wounds open and should not move for at least ten days. In the morning, Lucius is called in front of Caesar to receive his punishment for defending Titus in the arena. Lucius arrives at the Senate and Caesar decides to make him one of the new Senators in order to please the public who have found Lucius' actions in the arena to be heroic and Lucius accepts. Lucius tells Vorena the Elder that he and Niobe have been planning on finding her a rich old man that she can eventually fall in love with. As Lucius is walking to the Senate with Caesar, he is stopped by Eleni who tells him the truth about Lucius the child and Lucius heads home. Lucius arrives home and asks where Lucius the child is and Niobe tells Lucius she was told he was dead. Lucius grabs a bread knife and Niobe tells him Lucius the child is innocent and jumps to her death from the balcony. Lucius runs downstairs and holds Niobe's body as Lucius the child walks up.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 1 Passover played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius cries while holding Niobe's body until he sees Lucius the child. He then grabs Lucius and shakes him and demands to know who is the father of Lucius until Lyde, Vorena the Elder and Vorena the Younger return home. Luicus then curses his entire family and walks away. An Ancient Blind Oracle walks up to a dazed Lucius, who begs the oracle to wake him up and the oracle knocks him unconscious before stealing Lucius' jewelry and sandals. Titus and Eirene return to Lucius' home to find Lucius still in a daze and everyone else gone. Lucius tells Titus he cursed his family to hell and Titus tries to comfort him. The undertaker arrives to take Niobe's body and Lucius once again regrets cursing his children who still have not returned. Niobe's body is then burned on a pyre. When Lucius returns home he hears a noise and finds Clarissa rummaging around the house. She tells Lucius and Titus that Erastes Fulmen took the children. Lucius and Titus go to Erastes' headquarters and proceed to kill all of Erastes' men. When Erastes tells Lucius that he raped and murdered Lucius' family, Lucius cuts off Erastes' head. He and Titus then walk down the street with Lucius carrying Erastes' head.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 2 Son of Hades played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius, carrying Erastes Fulmen's head, and Titus Pullo return to Lucius' home and Lucius falls onto his bed. Lucius spends a months time in bed with Erastes' rotting head sitting on the ground nearby. Titus Pullo asks Mark Antony for advice concerning Lucius Vorenus and Mark Antony goes to Lucius' home and demands he take over Erastes Fulmen's role in recompense for his failures after throwing Erastes' head out of the house. A meeting is held between the captains of Aventine and Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo arrive and Lucius introduces himself to the leaders including Memmio, Hannibal Cotta, Acerbo, Gaul Boss, Veteran Boss and Quintus Boss. Lucius declares that the war over territory has been declared over by order of Mark Antony and Lucius declares that as the killer of Erastes Fulmen he claims ownership of the Aventine Collegium and that ownership of the Aventine belongs to him. Acerbo says he cannot claim ownership and Lucius offers the captains that once order is restored in the Aventine then they will be paid a certain amount. Acerbo initially refuses the offer and Lucius tells them all that those who oppose him will be his enemy and killed. He then smashes the statue of Concordia, declares the truce lifted, pulls out a sword and asks Acerbo once more if he will work with him, and Acerbo accepts. Titus tells Lucius he doesn't like the methods he is taking, but Lucius insists he is doing it for the good of the Republic. Mascius asks Lucius for a job and after telling Mascius about the dirty business he is about to enter, accepts him into the group.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 3 These Being the Words of Marcus Tullius Cicero played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius wakes up from a nightmare of the day Niobe killed herself. Lucius has a meeting with Memmio and Carbo in which they demand justice on Quintus Bubo for paying a nephew of Carbo's to perform oral sex on him. Lucius denies their request for justice on the grounds that Carbo's nephew was paid. He then tells Titus, who disagreed with him in front of Memmio and Carbo, to never question his authority again. Quintus Bubo and Mrs. Bubo enter Lucius' headquarters and he is told that Memmio's men castrated Quintus Bubo. Lucius blames Titus for Memmio disobeying him due to Titus publicly questioning Lucius. He then sends Mascius to punish Carbo after Titus refuses and wile arguing with Lucius, Titus accidentally lets slip that he knew Niobe had an affair with Evander Pulchio. Later Titus returns to speak with Lucius Vorenus and apologizes, but Lucius tells him he forgives him. Lucius declares war on Memmio after Memmio's men kill Appius. He then gets into a physical fight with Titus after accusing Titus of having sex with Niobe.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 4 Testudo et Lepus (The Tortoise and the Hare) played by Kevin McKidd

Titus finds Lucius and tells him his children are still alive. Lucius runs to Mark Antony and requests to leave and search for his children and Mark Antony gives him permission to leave. Titus tells Lucius that he only told Lucius he had sex with Niobe to make him angry and Lucius tells him he knows. At night, Titus tells Lucius that when he frees Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger and Lucius that they will be different. Lucius and Titus ride up to the Overseer of the slave camp who directs them to the Procurator's office. They speak to the Procurator and Titus hands him the letter from Octavian. One by one Lucius finds his children including Vorena the Elder who was being used as a prostitute. Before leaving, Lucius stabs and kills the Procurator.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 5 Heroes of the Republic played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius, Titus Pullo, Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger and the child Lucius journey back home to Rome and just outside of Rome, come across a road block manned by Soldier 1 who tells them it is on orders of Octavian. Lucius and Titus return to the Collegium and later, Lyde arrives at the Collegium and tells Lucius she has joined the Temple of the Blessed Orbona. He then takes her to see the children. A Priest of Janus blesses Lucius' children to rid them of the bad spirits and Lucius renounces darkness. Lucius enters the children's room. and finds a broken elephant toy and tells the child Lucius that he will fix it and then suggests they take a trip into the country one day. Gaia sees Lucius repairing the toy and asks him if has seen a real elephant before. She then offers herself to him and they have sex. After sex Lucius demands Gaia take some money as she angrily insists that she isn't a whore. He holds a meeting with Memmio and Hannibal Cotta declaring a truce and they agree to a peace. At dinner with Titus, Eirene and the children, Lucius holds a toast for family.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 6 Philippi played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius finds Gaia putting makeup on Vorena the Elder and he tells Vorena to take it off. He then has Mascius contact the other captains and tell them there will be a meeting. During the meeting with Memmio, Acerbo, Hannibal Cotta and Gaul Boss, he gives them each a list of ten prominent members of Roman society with orders to kill them and to take from them what they wish. Lucius tries to convince the other captains to donate some of the proceeds during the Feast of Pomona. Lucius tells Titus Pullo that he will be the one to kill Cicero at his villa in Tusculum. Titus suggests to Lucius that they make a picnic of the trip to Tusculum and Lucius agrees. Lyde tries to convince Lucius to let Vorena the Elder marry, but he tells her that no decent man would marry a former prostitute. Lucius the child is almost trampled by Messenger's horse, and Messenger yells at Lucius, who then pulls him off of his horse. Before Lucius can start beating Messenger, Lyde reminds him about the children and Messenger gets back on his horse and rides away.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 7 Death Mask played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius Vorenus and Mascius have a meeting with Memmio and attended by Omnipor. Titus show Lucius the fake token an Old Man used to try and get free food and accuses Memmio of making them, but Lucius decides not to do anything as feeding the hungry is good no matter where they are from. Eirene barges in and tells Titus he must beat Gaia and storms out. Lucius catches Vorena the Elder in his office and she tells him Vorena the Younger needs a new dress.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 8 A Necessary Fiction played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius has a meeting with Titus Pullo and Mascius where he tells them of his plan to take the gold shipment by road instead of by ship, which he told Octavian and Mark Antony. Lucius helps Titus bury Eirene and her baby. Mascius is brought back to the Collegiate wounded and tells Lucius how he was ambushed and the gold taken. Lucius reports to Octavian and Mark Antony that the gold was stolen and he promises to bring it back. Lucius goes to the headquarters of Memmio and finds him and his men celebrating. He tells him state property was stolen, but Memmio denies stealing it. Lucius checks on Titus and is told by Gaia that he hasn't eaten or drank any water in two days. Titus guesses that Memmio was the one that stole the gold and thinks Mascius colluded with Memmio. Lucius and Titus question Mascius about the ambush and as they do Vorena the Younger chases after Lucius the boy who is holding one of the dolls Omnipor gave Vorena the Elder. Titus accuses Mascius of being in on the ambush and as he is about to kill Mascius, Luicus recognizes the doll Lucius the boy held is similar to one he saw Omnipor holding earlier. Lucius storms into the children's room and finds Vorena the Elder's chest with all of the dolls Omnipor gave her. Lucius accuses Vorena the Elder of betraying him and she tells him she loves Omnipor and she hates him. Lucius grabs Vorena the Elder and starts to strangle her but walks away after Titus points out that the other children are watching. Lucius goes to Mark Antony and asks to join him in Egypt and Mark Antony accepts. Lucius tells Titus goodbye and to tell the children he tried. Lucius then arrives in Alexandria with Mark Antony.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 9 Deus Impeditio Esuritori Nullus (No God Can Stop a Hungry Man) played by Kevin McKidd

Lucius wakes up next to Prostitute after dreaming he was sleeping next to Niobe. He walks into the palace at Alexandria and finds Posca smoking opium from a pipe. Posca tells Lucius that Mark Antony is in the throne room meeting a delegation from Rome. Caesarion demands Lucius play with him and after he demands Lucius throw the ball properly, Lucius hits him with the ball. Caesarion asks Lucius to tell him about Caesar and Lucius describes Caesar to him and Caesarion asks to know more. Lucius tells Atia and Octavia that they are to return to their ship. Atia at first refuses to leave, but she eventually leaves after Lucius threatens the Egyptians will force them. As they are leaving, Octavia tells Lucius to tell Mark Antony that he is cowardly scum. Lucius finds Posca and Jocasta packing and allows them to leave after telling Posca to tell Titus to kiss his children for him. Mark Antony goes to Lucius and asks how Atia was and after Lucius tells him what Octavia instructed him to say, Mark Antony asks him if he thinks he is a coward and Lucius tells him he knows he isn't, he just has a disease in his soul that will eat at him until he dies.

After the Battle of Atium, Mark Antony, Lucius and the remainder of Mark Antony's fleet flee in a boat back to Alexandria. An Emmissary gives Lucius an offer from Octavian and tells him a phrase from Titus, but Lucius refuses the offer to betray Mark Antony. Mark Antony calls the Emmissary to him and tells him to offer single combat to Octavian and then tells Lucius to grab some weapons so he may practice. Caesarion speaks to Lucius and asks if Octavian plans on killing him, but Lucius reassures him. While Mark Antony and Lucius are practicing sword fighting, an Egyptian Courtier laughs when Mark Antony falls down. Mark Antony orders Lucius to have a drink with him and Lucius chugs it down. After Mark Antony and Cleopatra decide to commit suicide, Mark Antony and Lucius get drunk and reminisce about old times. Mark Antony tells Lucius to leave while he can and Lucius tells him it has been an honor to serve with him. Mark Antony has Lucius hold a sword to his chest and then shoves himself into the sword. Lucius removes the makeup from Mark Antony and dresses him back in his battle attire and places him on his throne. After Cleopatra suggests Lucius follow Mark Antony and commit suicide, he tells her, he must bring Caesarion to safety and that she has been fooled by Octavian. Cleopatra then agrees to send Caesarion with Lucius. Titus finds Lucius and Caesarion camping and meets his son. Lucius and Titus discuss how to escape and Lucius tells Titus that he plans on heading East as a mercenary. While traveling, Lucius and Titus come across a control point manned by Centurion Varro. After he orders them to go ahead, Centurion Varro asks apologies from Caesarion in his language and Caesarion responds. A battle then erupts and Lucius and Titus kill Centurion Varro and the other legionaries, however Lucius is stabbed in the back. Titus bring Lucius to the Collegium and tells Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger, the boy Lucius and Lyde that Lucius is dying. Vorena the Elder goes to Lucius and forgives him.
