Servilia of the Junii
Background
Servilia of the Junii is a member of the Roman aristocracy. Servilia is the mother of Marcus Junius Brutus and the lover of Caesar.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 1 The Stolen Eagle played by Lindsay Duncan
Brutus returns home and gives Servilia, Caesar's messages. Servilia reads Caesar's letter and then hands it to Eleni. Servilla is upset he didn't say love, but Elani reminds her Caesar is a soldier and not a poet. At Servilia's dinner party Brutus gets drunk and tells the crowd of Pompey Magnus, Octavia of the Julii and Glabius of his time in Gaul.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 3 An Owl in the Thornbrush played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia goes to a party put on by Atia of the Julii who blames Caesar for her troubles, to the crowd of Gaius Octavian, Octavia, and Brutus. She tells them if Caesar was there she would stab him herself. Later, Brutus tells Servilia Pompey has left Rome and they must decide who they will side with. Servilia tells Brutus it is up to him and he decides to side with Pompey. Servilia then tells him she will not leave Rome and will stay so she can be with Caesar and Brutus prepares to leave Rome.

Eleni reasures Servilia that Caesar will still find her attractive after 8 years. When Servilia arrives at Atia's party, Atia takes credit for inviting Servilia even though the invitation was directed by Caesar. During the party Caesar tells Servilia that Brutus will not be punished for joining Pompey. Atia tries to get Servilia to admit the is having an affair with Caesar, but she refuses. After the party, Caesar visits Servilia at her home and they make love.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 5 The Ram has Touched the Wall played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia and Caesar continue their affair. After graffiti is plastered on the walls of Rome depicting Servilia and Caesar having sex, Caesar goes to Servilia and tells her they can no longer see each other. Eleni brings one of the graffiti artists to Servilia and tells her that Atia had Timon do the deed. Servilia prays to the gods to place curses on Caesar and Atia and then has Eleni place the curses into cracks in the walls of the homes of Caesar and Atia.

Octavia arrives at Servilia's home bearing gifts from Atia including a slave with a large penis and a golden tortoise. Servilia is at first cold towards Octavia, but then apologizes to her and tells her she doesn't blame her for her mother's actions.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 7 Pharsalus played by Lindsay Duncan
Octavia is sent by Atia to ask Servilia to send some of her own guards to guard Atia's home. Servilia tells Octavia she will and Octavia cries and tells her she is too kind to her and her family. During a dinner with Octavia, Eleni tells Servilia that Caesar has defeated Pompey and there is no news on the fate of Brutus. Servilia begins to cry and Octavia comforts her and then they kiss. Servilia continues to invite Octavia to her home and they become lovers.

Servilia coldly welcomes Brutus back to Rome by hugging him and then quickly walking away. She also continues her affair with Octavia.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 9 Utica played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia argues with Brutus about going to Caesar's dinner party and she questions the honor of Brutus for surrendering instead of committing suicide. She goes to the dinner party and purposefully avoids looking at Caesar and mostly ignores him. While her and Octavia are weaving, Servilia finds out Caesar has a medical affliction and asks Octavia to find out what it is. When Octavia returns only with information about the murder of Evander Pulchio, Servilia tells her to sleep with Octavian in order to find out what the affliction is and tells her Atia killed Glabius. While Servilia is being carried in her litter through the streets of Rome, her litter bearers are killed in an ambush and her clothes are ripped and her hair cut.
During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 10 Triumph played by Lindsay Duncan
Eleni tells Servilia that Atia is at their home to see her. Servilia goes to see Atia, and Atia proceeds to subtly make negative remarks about Servilia and Brutus before inviting her to sit with her during Caesar's Triumph, which Servilia refuses. Brutus asks her to go to the countryside instead of sitting in the dark, but she rejects his offer and alludes to his friendship with Caesar. Quintus Pompey comes to her house and demands to see Brutus, and Servilia has him brought inside when she overhears him yelling that he will get revenge on Caesar. Brutus finds Servilia and Quintus talking over a document she has written and when he asks her when Quintus is leaving she tells him when she wants him to leave. She releases anti-Caesar propaganda with Brutus' name attached to it and when Brutus angrily storms into the house and asks her about it, she tells him she and Cassius wrote it. She tries to convince Brutus to join their cause against Caesar by reminding him that he is descended from the founders of Rome, but he refuses.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 12 Kalends of February played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia asks the spirits of her ancestors to give strength to Brutus as he assassinates Caesar. Servilia and her anti-Caesar conspirators hold a meeting where they discuss how to kill Caesar. Casca is weary of attacking Caesar with Lucius Vorenus around, who Quintus Pompey calls a son of a whore and Brutus describes Lucius to Servilia. Brutus demands that Caesar's murder be committed on Senate grounds and the others agree. Servilia gets up and asks Brutus to tell him more about Lucius and she remembers what Octavia told her about Niobe. Servilia greets Atia and Octavian as they arrive at her house as Eleni leaves the house. Servilia tells Atia that she invited her to her home so she would be the first to know about Caesar's assassination. Servilia finishes telling Atia that she is now alone and tells her that she will have her revenge on Atia and that she will make her suffer and Atia and Octavian leave.
During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 1 Passover played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia tells Brutus she is proud of what he has done when he returns home from the Senate. Marcus Tullius Cicero goes to Servilia's home and congratulates Brutus, Cassius and the other assassins. When Cicero hears that Mark Antony is still alive he attempts to leave, but almost runs into Mark Antony as he enters Servilia's home. Mark Antony offers a truce, but before negotiations can commence, Mark Antony sees Quintus Pompey in the room and demands he leave due to Quintus' attempt that morning to murder him. Brutus insists that no order was made to kill Mark Antony, and Quintus is told to leave by Cassius. Mark Antony offers to Brutus and the other senators a compromise in which they are given amnesty in exchange for Caesar's will and acts to be upheld and a public funeral. Mark Antony waits outside while the conspirators discuss his offer, and while Cassius, Cicero and Servilia want to murder Mark Antony now, Brutus refuses. Brutus walks outside and tells Mark Antony his offer will be accepted. Servilia walks into Calpurnia's home where Caesar's body lies in state and Calpurnia spits on Servilia. After his successful eulogy, Mark Antony offers to make Brutus a grain monitor so he can leave the city with dignity and protection against the mob. Brutus and the other conspirators agree to leave the city while Servilia is forced to stay.

Servilia is forced to go to a party held by Atia for Cleopatra. Atia approaches Servilia and tells her she has nothing to fear and offers her friendship once more which Servilia accepts. Servilia and Cicero are excited to hear the news about Gaius Octavian entering politics as a potential rival to Mark Antony.

Duro arrives at the home of Servilia and Eleni argues with him about seeing Servilia. As Duro is leaving after threatening to walk away, Servilia tells him to come back and then asks him why it is taking so long to poison Atia. Before leaving Duro demands a kiss from Servilia.
During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 4 Testudo et Lepus (The Tortoise and the Hare) played by Lindsay Duncan
While praying at a temple, Servilia is kidnapped by Timon's men and brought to the home of Atia. She is then taunted by Atia and tortured by Timon. After Atia tells him to cut off Servilia's face, Timon frees Servilia and she stumbles home. Eleni tends to Servilia who is still in a state of shock from her torture.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 7 Death Mask played by Lindsay Duncan
Servilia holds the death mask of Brutus and apologizes to his spirit. Eleni asks her if she would like to sleep, but Servilia tells her no more sleep. Servilia and Elen then go to Atia's home. Servilia demands justice in front of Atia's home while Eleni pours the ashes of Brutus over Servilia's head. Atia and Merula go to investigate and Atia tells Merula not to do anything as Servilia will eventually go away. As it rains, Servilia continues to call for justice outside of Atia's home. Atia gets fed up and confronts Servilia, and after cursing Atia, Servilia stabs herself dead.
