Artist is an artist in Rome. He was paid by the Aventine Cloth Dyers Association to paint a mural of Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus in the arena fighting the gladiators.

Artist is drawing a quick picture of Titus in the hospital when Titus wakes up and grabs him. Titus demands to know what he is doing and Artist tells him that he is drawing a quick sketch for a mural he has been paid to paint. Artist then tells Titus that he and Lucius are famous in Rome for their heroic fight against the gladiators and there probably isn't a woman in Rome who wouldn't open her doors to him.
