Detailed Synopsis
Vorena the Younger plays hide and seek with Rubio. Lucius Vorenus suggests to Niobe that they take a trip, but she tells him she can't leave Lyde, who is upset about Evander Pulchio missing, alone. Lucius wakes up Titus Pullo, who is passed out and then chastises him for thanking Eirene, as Lucius doesn't think slaves should be thanked. Numa is in front of Mark Antony asking him for a favor when Mark Antony cuts him off for taking too long and sends him away. Posca then sends the rest of the gathered supplicants away until tomorrow. Publius Servilius and his wife Poppea stand before Mark Antony and Mark Antony tells Publius he is to be made Consul for the year with a few conditions. Caesar shall be his Co-Consul and that he shall propose a new law that at least 1/3rd of all laborers must be Roman citizens in order to cut down on unemployment. As Niobe is cutting Vorena the Elder's hair, Clarissa tells her she can no longer marry Crito due to Lucius' promotion and their upgrade in status. Vorena argues with Niobe about decency and walks away. Lucius gets drunk with Titus and tells him about his relationship problems with Niobe.
The next day Publius gives his speech proposing the proposal that Mark Antony suggested, which passes when there are no dissenting senators and the Curial Magistrate ratifies it. Titus tells Lyde that he heard that Evander had amassed gambling debts and was killed and she should forget about him. Lyde screams and then argues with Niobe after Niobe blames Evander coming to her, because Lyde is unable to produce children. She tells her that she will keep her secret, but she never wants to see her again. Atia of the Julii and Octavia of the Julii watch as Titus trains Gaius Octavian in swordplay. Atia asks Octavian if has had sex yet and then tells Titus to take him to a whore house. Lucius goes home and finds Niobe waiting for him dressed up nicely and wearing makeup. They break bread together and make love after Niobe tells him she is in her most fertile part of her cycle. Caesar sends a letter to Mark Antony asking him to come with the 13th Legion in support as Pompey Magnus has amassed a large number of reinforcements and now Caesar is vastly outnumbered. Posca wakes up Mark Antony and hands him the letter, and Mark Antony says he must think before acting. Atia looks over some jewelry with Octavia that a Female Merchant has brought to sell and after picking out two necklaces, Merula haggles their price. Castor announces the arrival of Titus Pullo and after Octavian tries to get out of going, Atia insists he go to the whore house. Titus and Octavian go to a fancy whore house and the Madame has a group of prostitutes brought out for Octavian to choose from. Octavian chooses Egeria and they go off to a private room. Milo presents an offer to Mark Antony. If Mark Antony agrees to surrender to Pompey then his life will be spared and he will be given a province. Mark Antony tells Milo to return the next day and he will have an answer for Pompey.
Egeria tells Octavian about her early life and then they have sex. Mark Antony has Cynthia and another slave fight and Cynthia manages to slash the other one with her sword. Mark Antony shows up late with his date with Atia and she acts like she had forgot about their date. Lucius tells Niobe that Mark Antony does not intend to help Caesar and she brings up the bright side that they can spend time together. Mark Antony and Atia have sex and Atia tells him that they should get married and she tries to convince Mark Antony to take over Rome and abandon Caesar. Mark Antony tells Atia he never realized what an opportunistic harpy she was and then leaves her after she slaps him and kicks him out. Cato the Dwarf comes to Lucius Vorenus' house and tells him Mark Antony has ordered the mobilization of the 13th Legion. Milo demands to know Mark Antony's answer to Pompey's answer and Mark Antony punches him in the face. In order to curry favor with Servilia of the Junii, Atia sends Octavia with a slave with a large penis and gold plated tortoise shell to her house. Atia also sends Octavian away to an academy in Mediolanum to protect him. Servilia is at first cold to Octavia, but then apologizes and tells her she doesn't blame her for her mother's actions. Before he leaves, Titus gives Eirene a totem and Lucius tells his family goodbye once again, meanwhile Timon escorts Octavian towards Mediolanum. Mark Antony marches with his army out of Rome. The Newsreader tells the citizens that a fleet of ships has set sail for Greece carrying Mark Antony's army. While sailing for Greece, Titus disparages Triton's protection and the ship falls apart.
