Background

Private Mailer was an enlisted soldier in the British Army and was assigned to the 42nd blockade near Manchester. He is currently infected by the Rage virus and chained up by Major Henry West, who is studying him to find out how long it takes the infected to starve to death.

During the events of 28 Days Later (2002) played by Marvin Campbell

Jim is shown Private Mailer by Major West and explains why he is keeping him alive and chained up. When Jim returns to the mansion to save Selena and Hannah, he frees Private Mailer. Private Mailer then goes around the mansion infected and killing the other soldiers.
