Nome King
Background
The Nome King is the king of the Nomes in his mountain. He became powerful when he found the Ruby Slippers and had Mombi imprison Ozma.

The Nome King is told by the Nome Messenger that Dorothy has returned to OZ and brought a chicken. Dorothy, Tik Tok, Billina, Jack Pumpkinhead and the Gump crash land on his mountain and he asks why they are there. When Dorothy threatens him he makes the ground collapse under them. As Dorothy is falling he tells her all of the minerals belong to him and the Emerald City stole the emeralds from him. He then turns the Scarecrow into an ornament. Dorothy starts to cry and he makes her friends appear in the throne room. He makes Dorothy an offer, if she can guess which ornament the Scarecrow is, then they can leave and she agrees. The Gump goes first and fails and the Nome King then tells the others that if they choose incorrectly then they will be turned into ornaments. The next to go is Jack and then Tik Tok. As Tik Tok is guessing, the Nome King shows Dorothy the Ruby Slippers he found and then offers to send her back home to Kansas where she will never remember about OZ, but she refuses. When Tik Tok stops moving, the Nome King sends Dorothy inside to wind him and then to make her choice. Mombi arrives in her sled pulled by Wheelers and tells the Nome King that Dorothy is in OZ. He becomes enraged when Dorothy guesses correctly and imprisons Mombi in a cage. He then pulls apart the Gump sled and eats the sofa it is made from. He is about to eat Jack when Billina, who was hidden inside of Jack's head lays an egg which falls into the Nome King's mouth. The Nome King then dissolves from being poisoned.
