Billina
Background
Billina lives on a farm with Dorothy, Aunt Em, Uncle Henry and Toto near Black River Falls in Kansas.

After being chased by Toto, Dorothy picks up Billina and takes her to see if she laid any eggs. When she doesn't find any, Dorothy warns her that if she doesn't start laying eggs, Aunt Em threatened to cook her for dinner. While Billina is pecking the dirt, she flicks a key. During a great storm, Billina arrives in OZ with Dorothy. Billina starts to speak and after Dorothy realizes they are in the Deadly Desert, Dorothy picks Billina up and carries her across the stones of the Deadly Desert. They wander across the area and Dorothy points out her old house destroyed in the tornado and they follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. After seeing everyone has been turned to stone, they are confronted by Wheelers and run into a secret room opened with the key Billina found. They find Tik Tok and after reading his instructions, wake him up when Dorothy winds him up. They leave the room and when a group of Wheelers attack them, Tik Tok fights them off and takes the Lead Wheeler prisoner. Dorothy questions the Lead Wheeler and he takes them to Mombi's castle. Billina, Dorothy and Tik Tok enter the throne room of Mombi and Billina and Tik Tok wait while Dorothy goes with Mombi into her head room. Dorothy screams for help and Billina flies at Mombi, but she is grabbed and placed into a tower room with Dorothy. They find Jack Pumpkinhead and after putting him back together, Dorothy comes up with a plan. Dorothy leaves with Jack and later Jack returns with Tik Tok and they and Billina build a sled with a Gump head at the front. Dorothy returns and they get into the Gump sled and fly off after she brings it to life. As the Gump sled starts to fall apart, Billina flies up and ends up in Jack's head. She hides in his head while they encounter the Nome King. As the Nome King is about to eat Jack and Billina, she lays an egg which falls into the Nome King's throat and he dies from poisoning. Dorothy uses the Ruby Slippers to bring everyone back to the Emerald City and Billina joins the celebration as Dorothy returns to a rejuvenated OZ and Dorothy frees Ozma. She tells Dorothy she is going to stay in OZ and she says bye to Dorothy before she returns to Kansas. Later, Billina appears with Ozma in Dorthy's mirror.
