Horatio
Background
Horatio is a resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is in a relationship with Barbara.
During the events of Siege (1983) played by Tom Nardini
On May 29, 1981, Horatio is walking as a group of Punks are driving and riding skateboards behind a car. The car appears to be break down and as the Punks start pushing it, Horatio helps them. As they are pushing it to the Texpark, the Car Owner runs towards them and yells that it's his car. The Punks then leave the car and run away. Horatio stays behind and the Car Owner runs up to him and threatens to have Horatio arrested. The car starts rolling away and rolls into another car and the Car Owner jumps into his car and drives away. Chester is trying to pull his motorcycle up to his apartment using ropes and pulleys when he is lifted into the air by the weight of the motorcycle. Horatio then helps Chester get down and they pull the motorcycle up.
Later, Horatio and Barbara are watching over Patrick and Steve when Mrs. Fanshaw calls and asks when Patrick and Steve are going to return to the School of the Blind. Both Patrick and Steve hear people running in the distance.
Daniel starts banging on Horatio's door and they let him in. He tells them that Goose and the others tried to kill him, and they killed the Clubmembers. Goose knocks on the door and when Horatio opens it, tells him that they are looking for an escaped lunatic. Goose warns Horatio not to get involved and then he and Lloyd try to barge their way in, but Horatio pushes them out. Goose keeps on banging on the door and Barbara at first wants to hand Daniel over to them. Goose knocks the door in, but Horatio points a rifle at his head and tells him to leave. Goose leaves, but again threatens Horatio. Barbara calls 911 but is put on hold due to the police strike. Horatio asks Daniel who he is and what happened. Chester climbs through the skylights to the roof and into his apartment building to get his binoculars. Horatio asks Daniel how many of the New Order members were at The Crypt, but Daniel has a hard time remembering. Both Patrick and Steve say they heard five people's footsteps following Daniel.
Horatio says he doesn't think anyone should leave and Chester thinks the N.O will attack. Barbara says she is leaving, and Steve tells Patrick they should be getting back to the School of the Blind. Goose yells out that they can keep Daniel and then walks into the shadows. Chester hands Horatio a bow through the medicine cabinets connecting their apartments. Steve insists on leaving so he doesn't miss his dessert privileges at the school. Horatio tells Barbara that Steve is gone and Barbara decides to leave too and tries to get Patrick to leave with her. As Barbara is about to leave for Jude's house, Horatio asks her to wait to see if Jude is home. Horatio tries to make a phone call and realizes the phone lines are cut and runs to warn Barbara, who has also discovered blood at the building entrance. Horatio yells at Patrick to stay away from the windows and tells Chester that they found blood at the building entrance. Patrick hears Lloyd communicating with Cabe using walkie-talkies. Horatio quickly warns Chester about Lloyd using a sniper position. Chester then crawls through the medicine cabinet into Horatio's apartment.
Chester has Daniel saw part of a pvc pipe and Horatio and Chester come up with a plan to defend themselves. The N.O throw tear gas through the window and then start shooting at the apartment. Chester gives Horatio a gas mask, and Horatio throws the tear gas canister out the window. Chester goes downstairs and booby traps the building door. Horatio has Barbara use a broken piece of mirror to look to see if anyone is coming and before he leaves to guard the other part of the apartment, they kiss. Barbara sees members of the N.O. going through the other entrance to the building and tells Horatio, who warns Chester. Patrick hears the members of the N.O. entering the stairs near Chester's apartment. Daniel holds a bag outside the skylight to get Lloyd's attention who starts shooting at the bag. Chester then uses a makeshift mortar tube to fire a shrapnel rocket at Lloyd. Horatio then goes and holds a bag outside the skylight and after nothing happens, tells Chester he thinks Lloyd is dead. Goose and the others enter Chester's apartment and start shooting randomly around the apartment.
Patrick tells Horatio that one person stayed behind in Chester's apartment and Horatio, Chester and Daniel ambush Rosie and kill him with an arrow. Clark and Ian go back downstairs while Goose stays behind and when Horatio tries to ambush, Goose, the rifle misfires and Goose starts wildly firing into Horatio's apartment through the medicine cabinet. Chester uses a mirror to try and locate Goose, and Goose shoots the mirror and the shrapnel hits Chester in the hand. Clark stays behind while Goose and Ian leave Chester's apartment. Ian and Goose charge through Horatio's apartment and Clark accidentally shoots Ian dead, and Clark in turn is shot dead by Horatio. Goose runs to the building entrance and is electrocuted to death by a trap left by Chester. Horatio checks the bodies of the N.O. and tells the others that the battle is over. Horatio, Barbara and Patrick celebrate while Chester leaves to go to the hospital for his injured hand.
As Daniel is telling Horatio about the leader of the N.O., Horatio mentions he didn't see any of the dead N.O. that matched his description. Barbara says the leader was probably the one on the roof. Horatio realizes that there must be a member of the N.O. still unaccounted for. Cabe attempts to stab Barbara with a knife through the medicine cabinet, but she stabs him in the hand with scissors. Horatio and the others try and leave the building but can't open the door. Horatio goes back to his apartment and Patrick follows him as Daniel starts hacking at the building door. Horatio finds a dying Patrick on the roof. Cabe stumbles towards Barbara and as he is about to stab her, Horatio shoots him. As Horatio and Barbara are hugging, Cabe pulls out a gun, but Daniel strikes him with an axe to the neck.
