Billy Gremlins
Background
William "Billy" Peltzer lives in Kingston Falls. His father is Rand Peltzer and his mother is Lynn Peltzer and his dog's name is Barney. He works at Union Savings and Trust. He wants to be a comic book artist and has created his own comic, Troll Warrior. He is paying most of his families bills until Rand can successfully sell one of his inventions.
During the events of Gremlins (1984) played by Zach Galligan
Billy is looking at the smoking engine of his car when Mr. Futterman tells him the problem is that he has a foreign car versus an american made car. Billy barely makes it to work and is asked by Kate to sign a petition to make Dorry's Tavern a landmark. Mrs. Deagle enters the bank and accuses Barney of breaking her porcelain snowman and tells Billy that she plans on catching and killing Barney. Barney lunges at Mrs. Deagle and Billy gets in trouble with his bosses Mr. Corben and Gerald. At Dorry's Tavern, Billy shows Mr. Jones a drawing he did of Mrs. Deagle's head on a dragon's body and Gerald tells him if he was in charge he would have fired him for what happened with Mrs. Deagle. Billy goes home and helps Lynn cook dinner until Rand comes home. Rand gives Billy his Christmas present early and Billy opens it and the present turns out to be Gizmo. When Pete drops off Billy's tree at his house, Billy invites him to see Gizmo. Pete knocks a glass of water on Gizmo and Gizmo pops out five new Mogwai including Stripe. Billy shows Rand the new Mogwai and Rand believes that Mogwai will be the hot new pet. Later that night Billy finds Barney outside hanging from Christmas lights. Billy accuses Mrs. Deagle of stringing Barney up and Rand tells him he will take him to his grandmother's house until Christmas Eve. Billy takes one of the Mogwai to Roy Hanson and makes another Mogwai by dropping an eye dropper's worth of water on its back. Roy asks to keep one and Billy leaves one with him. Billy walks Kate home and successfully asks her out on a date. At night, Billy gives the Mogwai except Gizmo chicken after checking his clock to make sure it's not after midnight, but wakes up to the Mogwais covered in cocoons. Billy goes to Roy's classroom and Roy shows him his also cocooned Mogwai. Later, Roy calls him and tells Billy his Mogwai has hatched from its cocoon. Billy goes to the school, but finds Roy dead and he is attacked by the Mogwai. Billy returns home and saves Lynn from being attacked by a Mogwai by cutting off its head. Billy drops his mom off at Dr. Molinaro and Mrs. Molinaro's home and then chases after Stripe who jumps into the pool of the local Y.M.C.A. Billy then goes to the sheriff's office and tells Sheriff Frank and Deputy Brent about what he calls Gremlins after showing them Mogwai. He then goes to Dorry's Tavern and he, Kate and Mogwai escape to the bank. They find Mr. Corben dead and Gerald locked in the bank vault. They then go to the local theater and find all of the Gremlins watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Billy comes up with the idea to cause the theater to explode by flooding it with gas and lighting a fire, which they do, barely escaping from the Gremlins. They see Stripe go into the mall and they split up with Billy going after Stripe, while Kate and Gizmo go to find the control center to turn on the lights. Billy chases after Stripe and is attacked by him with saw blades and a chainsaw among other things. He finally finds Stripe standing next to a fountain and Stripe shoots at Billy. Gizmo arrives in a Barbie car and pulls a chain which opens slats that allow sunlight to come inside and Stripe melts into a puddle. Billy brings Gizmo home, but Grandfather shows up at his house and takes Gizmo back. Gizmo tells Billy goodbye and Grandfather tells Billy that at some point he may be ready to take care of Gizmo and until that time Gizmo will be waiting and Grandfather leaves with Gizmo.
