Background
Barney is a dog belonging to Billy. He lives in Kingston Falls.
During the events of Gremlins (1984) played by Mushroom
Barney goes to work with Billy at Union Savings and Trust where he sits under Billy's booth. When Mrs. Deagle storms into the bank and threatens Barney after blaming him for destroying her porcelain snowman, Barney lunges at her. During the night Barney is tied up outside with Christmas lights but saved by Billy. Rand Peltzer then takes Barney with him on his trip so Mrs. Deagle can't get him. As they are returning home and driving through downtown Kingston Falls, Barney starts barking and jumps out of the car. He runs into the mall and follows Gizmo to where Billy is. Barney watches as Stripe runs into a puddle of goop when he is exposed to sunlight.
