Liana Telfer
Background
Liana Telfer nee St. Martin is a member of the Order of the Silver Serpents and comes from an old aristocratic French family. She is married to Andrew Telfer and has a chateau in France.
During the events of The Ninth Gate (1999) played by Lena Olin
Dean Corso goes to speak with Liana about The Nine Gates of the Kingdom of Shadows and she tells him she didn't realize her late husband had sold it. She later approaches Dean and offers to buy it from him and after sex, attacks him when he plays dumb. She nearly runs over Dean and then lets her bodyguard out to attack Dean and get The Nine Gates from him. She eventually steals it from Dean's hotel room and leaves with her bodyguard to her chateau. They are preparing for the orgy of the Silver Serpents when Dean and The Girl break into her mansion and try and steal the book back. She has her Bodyguard take them down into the basement after she tells him to kill them. As she is reading from The Nine Gates to the crowd, Boris Balkan bursts into the room and tries to take The Nine Gates. She attacks him and Balkan chokes her to death.
