Harry Lockhart grew up in Embrey, Indiana. As a kid he did magic tricks as Harold the Great. Growing up he had a crush on Harmony Faith Lane.

Harry Lockhart and his partner Richie are breaking into a toy store in New York when the alarm in the store goes off. They run outside and are confronted by Pistol Woman who shoots Richie. Harry runs into a room used for film auditions and has an audition with NY Casting Woman and Dabney Shaw, briefly interrupted by NY Cop. Dabney Shaw likes Harry's acting and sends him to LA to get real world lessons from Gay Perry, a private investigator. At a party, Harry sees Harmony from his hometown and then reconnects with her at a bar. Perry brings Harry along on a case that involves the surveillance of a cabin, where they witness a car being driven into a pond. Perry recovers the body of a dead woman from the car's trunk and later that night Harry receives a call from a Homicide Cop telling him Harmony Lane committed suicide and she had a piece of paper on her with his name on it. Harry goes to his hotel room and after answering the door finds Harmony alive on the other side of the door. She tells him that her sister stole her identity and credit card and then shot and killed herself. Harmony leaves and as Harry is peeing in the toilet he finds the dead body from the car in his shower. He calls Perry who tells him to wrap the body up and find the gun that is probably somewhere in his room. He wraps the body up and he and Perry put it in Perry's car and then dump it on the side of a street. Harry agrees to help Harmony figure out why her sister died by lying and telling her he is a private investigator and later meets up with Perry who tells him that he should go home and that he told Harmony that Harry lied to her about being an investigator. Harry goes to Harmony's house who slams the door on him and cuts off his finger. She later calls him and tells him that she is working at a party and expects the killers of the dead woman, who turns out to be Harlan Dexter's daughter, will be there. Harry goes to the party and is confronted by Mr. Frying Pan and Mr. Fire who rip off Harry's newly attached finger. As Harmony is taking Harry to the hospital she detours to warn Perry when she sees Mr. Frying Pan and Mr. Fire heading in the same direction as Perry's stakeout. Harry is left in Harmony's car when she leaves to warn Perry and Pink Hair Girl jumps in and drives off. He then wakes up at Pink Hair Girl's house and witnesses Mr. Fire shoot her and then Harry shoots Mr. Fire. Harry's finger is then eaten by Pink Hair Girl's Dog. He goes to Dexter's mental health clinic with Perry to investigate a lead and as they are leaving they are confronted by Dexter Clinic Guard. Harry shoots and kills Dexter Clinic Guard, but is then taken hostage by Harlan Dexter and Aurelio. Harry is being tortured by Aurelio when Perry shoots Aurelio with a gun hidden in his crotch. They both then run to meet up with Harmony who had managed to steal the van carrying Harlan Dexter's daughter's body in it. Harry kills Harlan Dexter and the Dexter Goons and collapses near Harmony. He wakes up in the hospital and when he gets out, goes to work for Perry.
