Background

William "Bill" Harper is a student at Lakeside High School. His brother is Junior and his parents are Mrs. Harper and Mr. Harper. Bill is dating Mary.

During the events of Reefer Madness (1936) played by Kenneth Craig

Bill and Mary go to her house to study and are reenacting a scene from Romeo and Juliet when they are interrupted by Mrs. Lane. He goes home and Junior teases him for having a girlfriend. Jimmy picks up Bill and they drive to the soda shop and sit with Ralph and Blanche. They then leave and go to Mae's place. Jimmy leaves to drive Jack to get some more joints, while Bill stays and sits with Blanche. Mae walks into the room and hands out joints, and Blanche convinces Bill to try one. Bill has a meeting with Dr. Carroll and Dr. Carroll accuses Bill of using drugs, which Bill denies. Bill goes back to Mae's place and he and Blanche have sex. He wakes up and leaves the room and in his drug stupor sees Mary willingly kissing Ralph. Bill gets in a fight with Ralph and is then attacked by Jack. During their struggle, Jack's gun goes off and Mary is shot, and Jack knocks Bill unconscious. Bill wakes up and is told by Jack that he shot and killed Mary. Bill is then put on trial for the murder of Mary and convicted and sentenced for her murder. His conviction is eventually reversed by the Judge when Blanche tells the judge that it was Jack who shot Mary. Bill is then released and is greeted by Mr. Harper, Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Lane and Jimmy.
