Background
Medea is the high priestess of the goddess Hecate in Colchis.
During the events of Jason and the Argonauts (1963) played by Nancy Kovack
After her ship is crushed by the Clashing Rocks, Medea is pulled from the water by Jason. When he is injured fighting Acastus, she uses a mixture to heal his wound. She performs a ritual dance when Jason arrives in Colchis and tells those in attendance that Hecate has ordained that only King Aeetes shall help Jason. After King Aeetes imprisons Jason and the Argonauts, she frees him and the Argonauts and tells them where their ship is docked. She then takes Jason to the Golden Fleece and watches as he fights and kills the Hydra. Medea then escapes with Jason, Argus, Castor and Phalerus from King Aeetes and his soldiers. As they are escaping, Medea is shot in the back by an arrow and Jason uses the Golden Fleece to heal her. She then leaves with Argus to go back to the ship. Once Jason returns they kiss and hug.
