Joseph Patrick Carmichael was born in September 8, 1900 at St. Paul's Church . He had to use a wheelchair and was sickly after he suffered from atrophic arthritis at the age of three. Joseph's mother H.T. Spencer died when he was born. He was drowned in his tub by his father, Richard Carmichael.
During the events of The Changeling (1980) played by Voldi Way
Once John Russell moves into the Chessman park house, Joseph's spirit starts to haunt him. The spirit gradually leads John to figure out that Joseph was murdered and seeks revenge against Senator Carmichael, who took his place as a changeling. Once Senator Carmichael realizes Richard was a murderer, Joseph causes the house at Chessman Park to burn down.
