Background

Florence Shelby is the mother of David Shelby.

During the events of Avalanche (1978) played by Jeanette Nolan

Florence greets Caroline Brace when she arrives and introduces her to Henry McDade. She and Henry go to the location her son's chalet is being built and they are told by Nick Thorne that too many trees are being cut down. When the avalanche hits her and Henry are trapped inside the resort. She tries to use a chair to dig themselves out, but she eventually collapses. She is freed by David and Caroline performs CPR on her until she starts breathing again. She is put inside an ambulance, but due to the weather and poor driving, the ambulance crashes into a ravine, killing Florence.
