Eric Richards is the head of the Anthropology Department at a university in South Australia. He is on the University Council.
During the events of The Dreaming (1988) played by John Noble
After a robbery, a Detective asks Dr Richards what was stolen and Richards asks the Detective if he could keep things out of the press. Richards sees Professor Bernard Thornton and tells him about the theft of the bracelet. He then tells him that he is putting the island where the cave was at off limits. Later, Cathy Thornton picks up the phone and Richards asks to speak with Bernard and says he heard from some Students that Bernard went back to the island. Geoff goes to see Richards who tells him about the island.
