During the events of Friends: Season 1 Episode 3 The One with the Thumb played by Geoffrey Lower

Monica Geller introduces Phoebe Buffay, Ross Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Rachel Green to Alan, who immediately wins them over. Later, Alan talks with Chandler and convinces him to quit smoking again. Monica tells Alan that she is breaking up with him and he tells her that he liked her, but couldn't stand her friends.
