During the events of Avalanche (1978) played by Robert Forster
Robert is visiting the construction crew working on David Shelby's chalet when Florence Shelby and Henry McDade arrive. He warns everyone that they are cutting down too many trees. He goes to the Windom Peak ski resort and confronts David. David is backed up by Phil Prentiss who tells Nick the snow surveys say everything is fine. Later he says hello to Caroline Brace, who invites him to the opening dinner. At the dinner, Caroline invites him to dance and they eventually go back to his place. Nick wakes up early to go up to the shooting platform to try and knock some loose snow off the mountain before it accumulates. After the avalanche hits, Nick finds Phil stuck under a tree and frees him. They both go to the resort and help in the rescue efforts. When the ambulance carrying Florence Shelby and Caroline crashes, Nick helps David rescue Caroline who was left hanging from a bridge. At the resort Nick says goodbye to Caroline after he tells her how David is doing.
