Carter is a butler for Lord Downey in Ankh-Morpork, on Discworld.
During the events of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather (2006) played by John Cartier
Carter brings in tea for Lord Downey and goes to fetch another cup for Teatime, who has suddenly appeared in the room.
