Background
Drusus is the second in command to Messala in the Roman army.
During the events of Ben-Hur (1959) played by Terence Longdon
Drusus travels with Messala when they are newly stationed in Jerusalem and Messala tells Drusus that it was his dream to rule Jerusalem. He orders the arrest of Judah Ben-Hur, Miriam and Tirzah after Valerius Gratus is knocked unconscious from his horse by one their roofing tiles. He later arrests Simonides and Esther under order of Messala. Drusus is sent to find out the fate of Miriam and Tirzah in prison and discovers they are lepers. During a chariot race, Drusus watches as Messala is run over by another charioteer and stands by his side as Messala dies.
