Background
Madame Alta owns the Flying Narcissus Bar and brothel in Virginia City, Nevada. Her grandmother established her brothel in 1863.

Madame Alta is with Dr. Clemens when Eddie accuses one of Alta's Girls of stealing money from him. She later gives Mariposa a palm reading and tells her she is sowing the seeds of her own destruction. She is then asked by Phillip Maldove to find out what is going on at Dr. Clemens' lab. After Lance is shot, she goes to his funeral and is told by Charles Silverdale that he set up Barnstable for the murder of Lance. She is with Barnstable at a bar when Phillip Maldove drunkenly pulls a gun on Barnstable and tells Phillip to leave. She later saves Barnstable from being lynched and drives him to Dr. Clemens' lab.
