Martha and Paul go to Brewster, Massachusetts to investigate a call asking for help that he heard over his ham radio. On their way they pick up a hitchhiker named Pepe, who steals five dollars from Martha. When they get to the house they are confronted by Valkos, who accuses them of trespassing. After searching the attic they find another ham radio and meet Jim, who is there with his brother Mark, Susan and Tina. While searching the house, Martha is injured when jars explode. They all decide to wait over night and see if Paul or Jim hear the call for help. Martha, Paul and Susan return to the house and find Valkos attacking Mark. Paul chokes Valkos unconscious, but Valkos wakes up and manages to get away. Martha stays with Tina while the others go to take Mark to the hospital and tell the cops what happened. She sees a light on in the house and investigates. Martha enters a child's bedroom and opens a chest filled with toys including a picture of Henriett and at the bottom of the chest, Henriett's Doll. All of a sudden the toys start to spin around in the air and the doll begins to choke Martha. Martha throws the doll off of her and Paul enters the room, but the doll has disappeared. Martha and Paul go back to Boston, but return into town the next day when Paul's computer translates a piece of the recording as the word burial. As Martha is waiting for Paul to talk with Cementery Custodian, she sees Valkos, who chases her into the cemetery. Martha runs into a crypt and discovers it belongs to Henriett's family and includes Henriett's coffin. She is attacked in the crypt and calls out for Paul, who helps her escape. They return to the house to find Susan the only one left alive and then return to Boston. Later as Martha is walking she sees the doll in a store and turns and watches as Paul is struck by a bus crossing the road.
