Marcus Belby is a wizard from house Ravenclaw and student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He has an uncle who invented the Wolfsbane Potion.

On the Hogwarts train, as Luna Lovegood passes Marcus, he eats a Chocolate Frog. Albus Dumbledore introduces the students to Professor Horace Slughorn and tells the students that dark forces are trying to penetrate Hogwarts. At the Slughorn dinner party, Slughorn asks Cormac and Cormac McLaggen about their famous relatives. At the Slughorn Christmas party, Neville Longbottom, Marcus and another Waiter serve drinks.
