The Royal Lion continues to chase The Walrus. [[Captain Flint]] tells [[Rackham]] and [[Anne Bonny]] that they are not far from the Maroon island. He continues that [[Captain Benjamin Hornigold]] is not that far behind them, but [[John Silver]] has come up with a plan that might help them make it to shore. Rackham tells Flint that everyone's sacrifices are dependent on the contents of the chest with the cache. [[Dooley]] tells Flint that it is time and Flint leaves the room. [[Eleanor Guthrie]] walks into [[Captain Charles Vane]]'s cell and makes an offer to sign a confession which will allow him to be executed privately instead of through a public trial. He tells her that he knows the only thing she cares about is revenge for [[Richard Guthrie]]. Vane calls Richard a cowardly shit who cared nothing for Eleanor. As Eleanor is leaving, Vane tells her that Richard offered to give her up if Vane spared her and Eleanor starts to beat Vane and then calls Vane an unformed human. [[Woodes Rogers]] has a meeting with his senior counselors and [[Dr. Marcus]] tells Eleanor that he has confined Rogers to bed after Rogers collapsed. [[Mr. Soames]] asks Rogers how long they should wait for Hornigold to return with word that he has regained the cache. Rogers tells his counsel that if Hornigold fails to recover the cache they will try again and that until he is well, Eleanor is to be given what messages they want to pass to him. Rogers notices Eleanor's bruised knuckle and figures out she saw Vane. [[Leadsman]] calls out the surface depths to Dooley who then repeats it to [[De Groot]]. The Court Official asks if Vane has any last words. Vane tells the crowd that the authorities fear not just him but the locals as Vane represents a freedom that still may exist in them. A noose is put around Vane's neck and the cart he is standing on is ridden away. Although Vane's neck snaps, he continues to spasm and Billy has Jacob and his men pull on Vane's body to end Vane's suffering. Ben asks Billy why Vane asked them not to intervene and Billy tells him that Vane knew his death was the only way to start the resistance. During Mr. Scott's funeral, Rackham tells Flint that he would like to captain The Walrus while Flint leads the defense of the island.
