Background
Hortator is a slave that beats the drum in a galley.
During the events of Ben-Hur (1959)
The Hortator increases the rowing speed to battle speed, attack speed and finally ramming speed on orders of Quintus Arrius. The Hortator is on the ship when it is rammed by Macedonian pirates.
