Background

Uncle Tai meets Liu Jian shortly before Liu Jian has his meeting with Richard. When Liu Jian comes back, Uncle Tai tells him that almost all of the agents sent his way have died. Later, he goes to shoo Jessica away, but Liu Jian asks him to leave her alone. When Uncle Tai returns to his store he finds it destroyed and is then shot and killed by Max.
