Mrs. Peacock is a socialite in Washington, D.C.  Her husband is a senator.  She secretly takes bribes in exchange for her husband voting favorably in the lobbyist's favor. [[The Cook]] once used to be the cook for Mrs. Peacock.  One of her favorite recipes is monkey brain soup.

Mrs. Peacock is invited to the Hill House in New England.  She arrives and is greeted by [[Wadsworth]] and is introduced to [[Colonel Mustard]] and [[Mrs. White]].  After the remaining guests arrive, including [[Mr. Green]], [[Professor Plum]] and [[Miss Scarlet]], dinner is ready.  They are brought into the dining room and learn that they all either work or live in Washington, D.C.  [[Mr. Boddy]] arrives and they return back into the study.  Wadsworth tells them why they have all been gathered and that Mr. Boddy is the one who has been blackmailing them.  Mr. Boddy threatens to tell all of their secrets if he is arrested and then gives them each a weapon to kill Wadsworth with before turning off the lights.  The lights are turned back on and Mr. Boddy is found lying on the ground.  The dinner guests go to the kitchen and find The Cook dead with a knife in her back.  As Mrs. Peacock goes to the restroom, Mr. Boddy's body falls onto her.  [[The Motorist]] arrives and he is locked in the lounge.  The dinner guests then split up to search the house.  Mrs. Peacock and Professor Plum are paired up and they search the basement.  [[The Cop]] comes to the door and he is locked in the library.  The dinner guests then continue to search the house and the power is turned off in the mansion.  Once power returns, the dinner guests find [[Yvette]], The Cop, and [[The Singing Telegram Girl]] dead.  The doorbell rings once more and Mrs. Peacock tells [[The Chief]], who is posing as a religious person handing out pamphlets, to leave.  Wadsworth then tells the guests who murdered who, including that Mrs. Peacock murdered The Cook in the kitchen with the knife for telling Mr. Boddy she was taking bribes.  Wadsworth then reveals that he is actually the one blackmailing them all.  Mr. Green shoots Wadsworth and Mrs. Peacock and the others are arrested by the police.

Background
