Theodotus calms Ptolemy down and suggests their gift be brought out. Pomepy's head is brought out and given to Caesar who yells at the Egyptians for their barbarity. Caesar then demands the murderer be brought to him tomorrow and leaves with Pompey's head. Ptolemy XIII is the disputed king of Egypt. He is in a civil war with his sister Cleopatra.
