Caesar asks the whereabouts of [[Pompey Magnus]] and Ptolemy tells his counselors [[Pothinus]] and [[Theodotus]] to send Caesar away as he doesn't like his tone. Theodotus calms Ptolemy down and suggests their gift be brought out. Pomepy's head is brought out and given to Caesar who yells at the Egyptians for their barbarity. Caesar then demands the murderer be brought to him tomorrow and leaves with Pompey's head.
