[[Blackbeard]]'s crew overtakes a Spanish ship and during the fight, [[Captain Charles Vane]] mortally wounds Spaniard.  Spaniard asks for water and Vane tells [[Pirate Recruit 1|Ellers]] to bring him rum.  Vane gives the Spaniard the rum and the Spaniard points out a deficiency in Vane's fighting.  He explains to Vane that if they surrender then their wages are garnished and the ship's captain would lose his captaincy, but if they fight and die, their families might get compensation for their deaths.  The Spaniard then gives a hint of what the ship was carrying.

Blackbeard's crew overtakes a Spanish ship and during the fight, Captain Charles Vane mortally wounds Spaniard. Spaniard asks for water and Vane tells Ellers to bring him rum.
