During the events of Alien (1979) played by Michael Biehn

Corporal Hicks joins the rest of his platoon on their mission to find out what happened to the colonists on LV426. He takes a squad consisting of Private Frost, Private Drake and Corporal Dietrich into the colony of Hadleys Hope. They don't find anyone in the immediate area except for Newt. When the colonists are located in the processing plant, Hicks and the other marines go to investigate. Sergeant Apone collects the ammunition of the marines and Hicks pulls out his shotgun to use as an alternative weapon. The marines are ambushed by a group of Xenomorphs and Frost, Dietrich, Drake, Private Crowe, Private Wierzbowski and Sergeant Apone are taken by the xenomorphs or killed. After Lieutenant Gorman is knocked unconscious, Hicks is next in line to be in charge and he decides to leave the planet and nuke the site from orbit. Hicks contacts Corporal Ferro to come and pick them up in the drop ship, however the ship crashes. Hicks and the other survivors return to the operations center after salvaging what they can from the crash. When Ripley tells Hicks that Burke's plan was to impregnate her and Newt with xenomorphs and tamper with the marines cryotubes, Hicks decides to kill Burke. Before he can, the xenomorphs attack the operations center and kill Private Hudson, Private Vasquez and Gorman, leaving only Hicks, Ripley and Newt as survivors. As they are trying to escape, Newt falls down a shaft and is grabbed before Hicks and Ripley can get to her. While escaping from the base, Hicks is injured when he kills a xenomorph and its acid blood splashes on his chest and face. When Hicks and Ripley are picked up by the drop ship, Hicks takes a sedative and passes out. After Ripley kills the Xenomorph Matriarch, Hicks is placed in cryo sleep for his return home.
