Peter writes and signs his last will and testament which is witnessed by [[Jonathan Masbath]]. As Peter is traveling in his carriage, driven by Dirk, a horse quickly rides by. He hears the sound of a sword being unsheathed and looks outside his carriage window and sees Dirk, now headless. Peter jumps out of the carriage and into a corn field where he too has his head cut off. | |||

Peter Van Garrett is a wealthy land owner and resident of Sleepy Hollow, New York. His son is Dirk Van Garrett and his wife was Virginia Stendal, but she died in 1790. Peter was born in 1740.
During the events of Sleepy Hollow (1999) played by Martin Landau
Peter writes and signs his last will and testament which is witnessed by Jonathan Masbath. As Peter is traveling in his carriage, driven by Dirk, a horse quickly rides by. He hears the sound of a sword being unsheathed and looks outside his carriage window and sees Dirk, now headless.
