Background
"Scabbers" is the 12 year old rat familiar of Ron Weasley. He originally belonged to Percy Weasley.
During the events of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Ron introduces Harry Potter to Scabbers and before he is about to show Harry a spell, Hermione Granger asks them if they have seen Neville Longbottom's toad, Trevor. After Ron fails at a spell to transform Scabbers, Hermione uses a spell to fix Harry's broken glasses.
