Background
Munson is a research assistant for Dr. Hans Zarkov.
During the events of Flash Gordon (1980) played by William Hootkins
Munson is woken up by a piece of lava falling onto his bed. Munson then wakes up Dr. Zarkov who figures out the lava is actually a piece of the moon and the Earth is under attack. Zarkov then pulls a revolver on Munson and tries to force him into the experimental rocket he built. Munson runs away and watches as Zarkov, Flash Gordon and Dale Arden fly away in the rocket.
