Toto lives near Black River Falls in Kansas. He is Dorothy's companion.
During the events of Return to OZ (1985) played by Tansy
Toto lays with Dorothy in her bed when she can't sleep. In the morning he runs after the chickens including Billina and is chastised by Dorothy. When he sees Aunt Em riding away with Dorothy he sneaks out of the house and runs after them, but Dorothy tells him to go home. After the great storm, Toto is the first one to find Dorothy and he runs to her.
