During the events of The Ninth Gate (1999) played by Jacques Collard
Dean Corso arrives in Paris and pays Gruber to get a room at the hotel. Later, he asks Gruber to find out if Liana Telfer or Liana's Bodyguard are staying in a hotel nearby. After apologizing for the actions of Desk Clerk, who allowed Liana to enter Dean's hotel room, Gruber tells Dean where he could find Liana.
